Newborn session: Meet Harrison

1

Friday, 12 July 2013

Well, I gotta say, meeting little Harrison was an absolute delight and I couldn't believe how TINY he was. After a short 9 weeks with my own newborn I had already forgotten how small a 2 week old baby is.

Harrison was the most alert little man I have met, sure to be a quick learner taking in his wonderful surrounds with such lovely parents to nurture him.

Here are some of the pictures we captured one afternoon. Xx

Home is a sanctuary - a sneak peek into my home

Before our son was born, it became a project for me to really make our home comfortable, inviting and updated. After all, it was going to be somewhere I would be spending a lot of my time.

Our home is a modest edwardian style weatherboard home in country Victoria. It still needs plenty of work, but when does home 'fix-ups' really end anyway?

We bought it 7.5 years ago at the ripe age of 20, since then we have made it ours, built a life here and now started a family. We moved a lot as a kid, so we never had a place that was really ours, sentiment came from trinkets that would move around with us.

Looking back now, that might be why I always like change in the house, even if it is just rearranging photo frames or getting some new cushions!

At 6 months pregnant, we painted, removed old carpet and installed a new kitchen and then on the day my waters broke, we had heating installed. Our home felt refreshed and new as I write this from my sun filled home office (pictured here with our dog, Daisy) I feel content and happy this is where we started to raise our baby.

Friday Flashback - BEACH DAYS

2

Friday, 8 March 2013

These photos were taken in 2011 on a trip with my husband and 2 dogs to Sorrento, Victoria.

The Mornington Peninsula is one of my favourite spots in the world. I spent a good chunk of my teenage years there, so it holds many fun memories, plus it still has this chilled out, not too touristy vibe about it.

Right near the end of the Peninsula is Sorrento, where you will get the best fish and chips, gorgeous home boutique stores and even see some ocean wildlife. An ocean beach out the back and a calm bay beach, what more could you ask for?

Don't forget along the way there are a load of vinatge warehouses, where you could spend a whole day visiting, wineries and hot springs... yes.. delicious hot springs.

Bump Shoot - 34 weeks and glowing

3

Sunday, 3 March 2013

What a beautiful morning is was with Michelle, loads of giggles at what pregnancy has meant to us and sharing our experiences. We took a walk through the bush and then quickly retreated back to the air-conditioned comfort of her home (it was 35degree day!). It was an absolute pleasure to meet and hang out with another mumma-to-be.

At 34 weeks and truly glowing, here are some of my favourites from our shoot. Isn't she just a glowing goddess?!?!

Oh, and big brother Mr. Pickles (yes, in a tuxe!..)

Sibling love

Last year I made a commitment to myself, to take more time to practise photography and step outside of my comfort zone.

This time the shoot was of a good friends family (minus the good friend being present), it was up to me to be a professional. To provide direction and also know when to fade into the background.

I thought I would share a few of the photos, below.

I will continue to build and grow this year and already have wheels in motion to make it more official, I can definitely say to watch this space in the coming months for an announcement. In the meantime, if you have an event or just want some shots, contact me for some info.

Your feedback is always GREATLY appreciated, so be sure to let me know what you think.

Wedding Decor Shoot - Indra + Dave

Sunday, 6 January 2013

Beyond excited to share this wedding with you.

Indra and I went to school together, but it wasn't until Facebook ignited a friendship (ahem, 10 years later) that we realised we could have been separated at birth. Not the lookalike kind, but the 'we kinda share a brain' in our similar tastes and interests. It also doesn't help that we both became engaged and married around the same time, our pathways were aligned.

So, imagine my excitement when we discuss her wedding over coffee and I'm invited along to take the decor photos and witness their marriage in person.

No detail was forgotten at this event, everything planned to perfection. Hello Blossoms created the most amazing bunches fresh flowers, they were everywhere! The venue, Stillwater at Crittenden, was very carefully put together  and coordinated by Laura from Weddings of Desire, which you will see in the following photos.

Thanks again Indra and Dave for making me a part of capturing your special day, I truly wish you both all the best as husbo and wifey.

If you have an event coming up and would be interested in having me take some photos, please email me at mbcaptured@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you.
