Before our son was born, it became a project for me to really make our home comfortable, inviting and updated. After all, it was going to be somewhere I would be spending a lot of my time.
Our home is a modest edwardian style weatherboard home in country Victoria. It still needs plenty of work, but when does home 'fix-ups' really end anyway?
We bought it 7.5 years ago at the ripe age of 20, since then we have made it ours, built a life here and now started a family. We moved a lot as a kid, so we never had a place that was really ours, sentiment came from trinkets that would move around with us.
Looking back now, that might be why I always like change in the house, even if it is just rearranging photo frames or getting some new cushions!
At 6 months pregnant, we painted, removed old carpet and installed a new kitchen and then on the day my waters broke, we had heating installed. Our home felt refreshed and new as I write this from my sun filled home office (
pictured here with our dog, Daisy) I feel content and happy this is where we started to raise our baby.
