Design Crush - Emma Gale Artist

You have probably already heard of Emma Gale,  her work hangs in the well known home decor store Fenton & Fenton in Prahran Victoria. (which I also strongly suggest you check out, it is where my dear yarn moose head came from - featured in this post)

I was truly captivated by her work from an exhibition earlier this year. A cultural and colourful display through animals = a definite win in my book.

Art is something I don't believe needs many words, you either love it or you don't and below are some of my favourite pieces. 

As evidence, my husband (who is not a fan of paying $$$ for art) agreed that this is one truly talented woman. I will dream of the day my home with house one of her beauties!

Blog Crush - Home decor to inspire - 79 Ideas

Nothing but quality images come from this blog sourcing images from homes across the world. I have compiled some of my favourite images/inspirations below and they have been stored in a folder called 'dream home' on my computer.

One day, when we build a home, it will be nothing of the standard floor plan or design. Oh the possibilities! While we are no where near that kind of project yet, the dreaming and scheming stages are underway. In fact, when I was 8 years old I drew a floor plan for my dream home! ha! It really isn't that bad even thinking back to it now, but it was full of cool hide outs - mandatory home features for a kid, right!?

Design Crush: Women you should have on speed dial

I discovered both of the designers featured in this post through some amazing blogs and businesses I follow. Boy oh boy, am I glad I did.

These lovely ladies are uniquely different, but isn't that what makes designers so darn good anyway!

As a design student, I love sourcing inspiration and connecting with those people. It is about sharing ideas, styles and talent.

Tabitha Emma

What drew me to the wonderful work of Tabitha, was the vintage, eclectic and whimsical feel to her work. As you scroll through her design work, blog or Etsy store you will be swept off your feet and taken on the magical journey of her style.

Fresh by Sian

In the opening lines of her website are the words "I'm Sian, and I'm a conductor of creative radness." - couldn't have said it better myself.

Sian treks more down the pathways of brand development, web design and e-book design - but she also has 2 side projects 16 Hours and Striking Truths (<-actually I LOVE this one).

What makes her work so good is the, well, fresh approach. Clean lines, good design and use of great photography to get the message across (BIG tick!).

Photography Hero: Max Wanger

Beware, once you click on this site, you will lose hours, literally hours, scrolling the pages.

Max Wanger doesn't just capture a moment, he turns it into art; the kind you could stare at for a very long time.

   

His signature image includes a whole lotta negative space and I kinda love that.

 

Warning, there is a big declaration about to be made... If I had to aspire to someones style as I learn and understand photography and editing, it's gotta be Max Wanger.

Have you heard of Verity? If not, let me introduce you.

Verity is the beautiful face behind Ginger & Mint Photography. Her special skill is capturing a candid moment or a sun soaked portrait. Some might say it is easy to learn the specs of a camera, simply snap away, but to capture moments like the ones below it takes a special eye and a certain relaxed, approachable and warming personality. Verity is far from the tacky and demanding old school 'professional' photographers, instead, someone with a real passion for what they do. I am sure you will agree.

I was beyond delighted to hear a friend of mine has booked her for her wedding next year, so I can see Verity in her true element. I too will book a photo session with her for our 1 year anniversary next year.

Tip: From all the weddings, this one is my favourite. This couple are continually beaming with love throughout their day, not to forget the incredible venue they hosted their reception! Check it out here.

Design Crush: Utterly flawless and feminine

Chic Sprinkles

When I came across Sarah's blog, my mind was in a design ecstasy, such beautiful clean lines with a feminine boost and a VERY cute little mascot named Coco.

What I love about her photography is the soft warmth and happiness I feel through each and every photo. She does Dog Lady minus the Crazy. A very chic and modern way to display the bond between dogs and humans.

I am so happy I found Sarah and am positive you will be too.
