I cam across this Wedding at Tiffany's on Karen Buckle's gorgeous website, I couldn't resist sharing it with you all.

BY FAR the most gorgeous wedding stationery I have ever seen. For full details of this wedding, click here. This cute little stationery set was created by Berry & Peg.

DIY: Wedding Thank you cards

Tuesday, 31 July 2012

This week (yes two months after the event) we finally sent out our thank you cards from the wedding.

Many couples these days don't send anything out, feeling that it is phasing out with old traditions. However I think there is nice touch after the event to give your guests a little note to say thanks, we had a ball and here is a pic from the wedding. I mean when isn't it nice to receive a pretty coloured envelope in the post!

I am also sending out cards to the suppliers and people who contributed to the day (as we had a lot of friends, family and friends of friends involved too) - but these will look different (and not yet complete).

We wanted a card that was a little different and wasn't tacky. Using our own photos in a few different mock designs (with help from other blogs and pinterest) and voila!

These were very inexpensive, the paper was slightly thicker than normal, but light enough to fold. The labels were individually cut out of A4 label sheets.

DIY Wedding Programs and Bombonieres

After receiving the bill for our wedding invites (which you can view here, the invites that is!) , I was financially intimidated to head back for more stationery. Plus, I wanted to put a bit more of a personal touch on the wedding and didn't like the idea of a 'uniform stationery' wedding.

I figured, while I didn't have graphic design skills (yet!), I was still capable of some creativity with scissors and glue. With assistance from sites such as Pinterest I was able to get going and create our bits and pieces.

So here I present two of my projects.

'Songs to get hitched to' - A collection of our wedding songs for our guests to take home. Total cost: AU$1.70each

Confetti bags - AU$1 each

Wedding Programs - 8 page booklet on running of the events, our story, our bridal party, photos and questions. Total approx AU$1.50 each

Envelopes & Twine: Spotlight
Doilies: Safeway/Woolworths
Stamps: Typo (Ink: Officeworks)
Discs & Disc Labels: Officeworks
Crate & Chalkboard box: Provincial Living
Jars and milk tin: opshops
Lace tablecloth: opshop
M&R Bags: Etsy

Ok, so I think it is safe for me to share this now... recently we picked up our wedding invitations!! One of those moments where you are thinking 'Wow, this is really happening' then you are overcome by a mass swarm of butterflies through your body!

Originally inspired by this concept (below), we wanted our invites to exude our laid back nature and ability to have a bit of fun. We are not about cliche romances - there will not be a single diamonte, rose, chair cover or even a gift registry at our wedding.

So first up, this is our 'Save The Date'. We sent these babies out in November (4.5 months before the wedding), since I have some international family members flying in for the big event!!

And here are the official invites! Totally wrapped in them (pardon the pun). A BIG thank you to Circle of Friends in Shepparton, Victoria - in particular Mahlah, for her beautiful creation. We have had so many wonderful comments on them already.

Now that they are in the mail and in the hands of our 40-50 guests, it is time to get cracking on the program, which I am overloaded with great ideas on.
