Friday Flashback - BEACH DAYS

2

Friday, 8 March 2013

These photos were taken in 2011 on a trip with my husband and 2 dogs to Sorrento, Victoria.

The Mornington Peninsula is one of my favourite spots in the world. I spent a good chunk of my teenage years there, so it holds many fun memories, plus it still has this chilled out, not too touristy vibe about it.

Right near the end of the Peninsula is Sorrento, where you will get the best fish and chips, gorgeous home boutique stores and even see some ocean wildlife. An ocean beach out the back and a calm bay beach, what more could you ask for?

Don't forget along the way there are a load of vinatge warehouses, where you could spend a whole day visiting, wineries and hot springs... yes.. delicious hot springs.

A weekend in the West

Ok, so a while ago I posted on here about flying over to New York City to pick up my wedding ring (yes, from Tiffany & Co!! – excitement), which some might call a little over-the-top, but luckily I had a gorgeous friend who I met up with while over there, so the trip became well and truly justified!

Well, the next instalment of the wedding planning and holiday scheming was to take place in Western Australia, just south of Perth. On this trip we were meeting up with our very super talented photographer and ever so lovely celebrant, to go through finer details and sign some paperwork. Since that only took up one afternoon, there were still plenty of ‘free-time’ hours.

We met up with a friend who we met while away, you know those people you meet and it just feels right, well we knew him for a whole 6 or so weeks and still keep in contact like we were all childhood buddies, it had been 4 years since those 6 weeks and he and his girlfriend drove a 12 hour return trip to see us! Feel special much?!?! Plus we got to meet up with some new extended family, who doesn’t love more awesome family!

Anyway, enough chit-chat, here are some pics from our trip. Xx

Token beach photos - Bermagui NSW

There is something magically healing about sinking your toes into the sand, listening to the water and feeling the breeze on your face.

We spent the last week in beautiful Bermagui, a place some good friends of ours now call home. It was our first true family holiday (aka: took the fluffy kids with us!) and our first road trip in a very long time.

The best thing about this place is it is a bit of a hidden gem, so there are not many tourists around. The beaches were empty everyday, which meant the 6 dogs that were part of our tribe for the week got to run freely. It filled me with so much happiness, like all the way through my stomach, to watch my dogs run alongside me on the beach.

There will be more posts on our trip to Bermagui and some surrounding towns throughout the week. If you are like me and back at work today, you will need the inspiration!!

Carrie Bradshaw chose it as her ideal wedding venue in Sex and the City, stating "it is where all the greatest love stories were housed". Here are some of our moments spent inside this architecturally beautiful building. Xx

Central Park - THE park

Picture this... every morning strolling through a picturesque park, coffee in one hand pastry in the other, growing leaves floating to the ground, more dogs than you can look at running around freely and then you remember.... you are in the middle of the city!

Central Park has to be one of the greatest parks I have had the pleasure of frolicking around in. Every day Amy and I would take our breakfast and head down. We took a row boat ride, I had breakfast at the beautiful Boathouse restaurant, stared at many different breeds of dogs, went to the zoo, the Met, the list really goes on.

I won't lie, I was constantly snapping away while walking around, I just loved how picturesque everything was!
