Jack Henry Wolfgang Berry was born 4 May 2013.
The picture above was taken within an hour of our son's birth. The most memorable moment of our lives.
It is true, words cannot describe the emotion you feel when your child is placed upon you fresh from the womb. Love at first sight perhaps? Except I loved him before I met him, after all we had spent 39 weeks together.
I could stare at him all day, no really I could. I remember at the hospital, on the day we were being discharged, they took him away for his tests and I could hear him screaming from down the hallway. I instantly felt tears welling in my eyes and a weird sensation in my breasts. I am not an emotional person, but on this day I knew my invisible umbilical cord was tugging fiercely and my instincts to protect and love my son were strong.
The best thing so far? It has gotta be just being with him, even if he is crying. Just holding him in my arms feels SO DARN GOOD. Like my soul is filled up with goodness and happiness.
The hardest thing so far? In between feeds I have been waking in a panic thinking I have fallen asleep with him in the bed, thankfully only to find him peacefully sleeping in his bed.
Mostly, when I look at him, I still can't believe we MADE this little human. He is so sweet, innocent and beautiful. I feel blessed and wholesome. Xx
I would also love to know your thoughts and interest in an E-book on pregnancy. From my experience with all the horrid tales from everyone trying to scare you, hard to find maternity wear, support services and general knowledge, I want to pass it on to others. Pregnancy was a beautiful experience and it really should be enjoyed, not feared or loathed. Leave a comment below or send me an email and let me know your thoughts.
